July 2005

Greetings Lions and Lioness,

As you read this newsletter, my wife Sharon and I will be in or just returning from Hong Kong and the International Convention.    Once back, we will be looking forward to visiting all of the clubs and getting to know all of you good people. So get your club visits set up as soon as you can, Mean while send us all of your up coming events so we can get them in the newsletter for all to see. Don’t forget to find more info on club activities on our web page www.md27c2.org.

We have taken the second order of Braille books to the Lions Camp along with 150 calculators for the Diabetics so they can learn to count their Carbs. We still need more calculators as the camp has over 300 campers with Diabetes. While you go to the camp for their wonderful chicken BBQ on Sunday July 24th, don’t forget to take a look at the great selection of Braille books and the beautiful new dining room.

We will be having our first cabinet meeting on July 31st at the Fireside Restaurant in Rhinelander on HWY K. The MERLO meeting will start at noon—2pm. The cabinet meeting will begin at 2:00pm until 4:30pm. PDG Dwaine Habrat will be installing our cabinet for 1005-1006. Please plan to attend this important meeting. If unable to attend please let me know.

At this time we need to think about orientation of new members. But lest us not forget in our efforts, to retain the members we do have. A pat on the back for a job well done goes very far. Remember retention is very important. Let us keep that back door closed.

Yours in Lionism,

DG Ed and Partner in
